Privacy Policy
Last updated: [Owner to confirm: effective date]
This policy explains what information North York Fireplace Care collects through northyorkfirecare.ca, why we collect it and how we handle it. We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
What we collect
When you send a quote request we collect your name, phone number and or email, the service you need, your area or postal code, your message, your preferred time, an optional photo and whether you opted in to maintenance reminders. We also record the page the form was sent from and a one way hash of your network address to prevent spam. We do not store your raw IP address with your request.
Photos
Photos you upload are stored privately and are only accessible to authorized staff to prepare for your visit. Please avoid including people or personal documents in photos.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to your request, schedule and carry out service and keep records of work done. If you opted in, we may send occasional maintenance reminders, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell your information.
Analytics
We may use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. These tools may set cookies. We send events such as form submitted or estimator used without your name, phone or message. Analytics is not active until the owner configures it. [Owner to confirm: cookie banner and consent approach]
Service providers
Your request is stored with our hosting and database provider. [Owner to confirm: list of processors and storage location]
Message assistance and address suggestions
If you choose to improve your message with AI, your message and page context are sent to aLeads. Your name, phone and email fields are not sent by this tool. You can edit the result or restore your original message before submitting your request. As you type an address, the address search text is sent to aLeads for Google powered suggestions. Selecting a suggestion fills your existing address field. These tools also send the current page URL, language and form label. Avoid putting sensitive personal information in your message.
Retention
We keep requests and job records for as long as needed for service and legal purposes. [Owner to confirm: retention period]
